The new domicil - south of Århus - designed by the arcitect Jörg Kerchlango, graduated from the Academy of Art in Wienna, Austria.

 

HISTORICAL OVERVIEW

Theodor Martin Juhl established JUHL A/S in 1933, first as a paint shop and then diversifying into wholesales in screen print supplies when his son, Niels Jørgen Juhl, took over.
N. J. Juhl's experiments with the development of screen printing inks lead to the first screen print customer, the Ceres brewery in Aarhus, who went from painting to printing their beer crates with "Juhl's ink".

1933

March 7, Establishment of Juhl's Paintshop in Aarhus, Denmark

1954

The paint shop has its first screen print customer

1956

N. J. Juhl becomes a partner in the paint shop

1958

25th Anniversary

1965

The assortment of screen printing supplies becomes extensive

1971

The paint shop diversifies into a wholesale company selling screen printing articles

1974

The company introduces computer-supported execution of orders. Also this year JUHL A/S becomes the distributor and service company for Wiederhold Screen & Pad Printing Inks , and Sefar Thal mesh (SST)

1983

50th anniversary

1985

JUHL A/S moves to a bigger facility in a more rural part of the Aarhus area. The new domicile is a former concrete factory, redesigned by the Austrian architect Jörg Kerchlango

1991

Niels F. Juhl and Jens J. Juhl, members of the third generation, takes over the company

1993

60th Anniversary- open house for customers and suppliers from around the world

1995

JUHL A/S becomes one of the first companies in its business getting a homepage on the world wide web.

1999

The brand-new computer system (Windows NT-based) in the company now automatically checks, if the newest MSDS-Sheet is actually available at the customers company.

1999

The company is introducing a digital print-opportunity for repro-film.  

1999

JUHL A/S introduces new letters via direct mail.

1999

Niels & Lisbeth Juhl byes all stocks and takes over the whole company.

2000

JUHL A/S now introduces fast seminars - to bring the companies knowledge "out in the market".

2002

JUHL A/S takes over Coates Screen Denmark in Ballerup.

2003

JUHL A/S takes over Coates Circuit Products from Ryttergaard.

OWNERSHIP

JUHL A/S is wholly owned by JUHL HOLDING ApS. Niels and Lisbeth Juhl own all the shares in JUHL HOLDING ApS.

MISSION

JUHL A/S´ supplies quality products to customers mainly within the business of screen-, tampon-, textile-, digital print and heat transfer.

JUHL A/S´ main task is to offer the market a complete solution including equipment and consumer goods. JUHL A/S is a “one stop shop” which means that the customer can be offered a complete range of goods, which again makes it easier for the customer to introduce a new product line.

VISION

JUHL A/S wants to maintain and extend it´s position to be one of two market leaders in the business.

PRODUCT RANGE

JUHL A/S has an exclusive distributor agreement for Denmark and parts of Scandinavia with a number of well-reputed suppliers. The main suppliers is:

  • Coates Screen AG
  • Sefar AG
  • Ikonics
  • Polyone
  • Tampoprint AG
  • M+R Printing
  • Beltron GmbH

From these companies the company supply there customers with inks, mesh, stencil products, machinery and other equipment.

Besides the above-mentioned suppliers and products the company also sell a long range of products and equipment such as: hot stamp and multicolour heat transfer foils, industrial adhesives and tape, aluminium frames, paper for the textile transfer industry, quality control tools, squeegee systems etc.

MANGEMENT, ORGANISATION AND EMPLOYEES

Niels and Lisbeth Juhl who manages the company, has years of experience as managing directors. Niels Juhl is the third generation of the Juhl Company and is within the business acknowledged for his technical skills. Lisbeth has been the owner and managing director of her own company since 1985 and has a degree in management and business administration.

At the moment JUHL A/S employs 12 employees. The company has a flat organisation with delegated fields of responsibilities and duties.

The management group in JUHL A/S consist of the following four employees:

Niels Juhl (strategic development, technical support and overall sales)

Lisbeth Juhl (economy and staff)

Morten Frost (sales manager)

The company has a sales force who consist of four employees:

In general all the employees is well qualified for there position in the company and several of them have excellent language skills.

Due to the central location of the company, recruiting of new employees is a seldom problem.

FACILITIES

JUHL A/S is renting the building facilities from a building society that belongs to the Juhl family. The entire inventory and fixtures as well as the stock belong to JUHL A/S.

Among the JUHL A/S owned facilities are:

  • Stretching departments.
  • Fully equipped colorimetric lab.
  • Test print lab.
  • Fully equipped stencil lab and training centre.
  • Classroom for seminars.
  • The most comprehensive homepage in Europe (will be reliance primo 2006).

 

FINANCIAL HIGHLIGHTS

The company generates its earnings by showing great flexibility in the calculation on the individual products for the specific customers.

JUHL A/S has firm supply agreements with several of the customers as well as complete trade agreements with some of the largest customers.

The company has pointed out key performances indicators, which are used monthly as a basis for a financial analyse.

Each sales person has together with the sales manager pointed out between 10 – 15 key accounts for whom they have a specific budget and an activity plan.
